Disposal of Unwanted Chemical Substances

Boards of Management should develop a procedure for the handling and disposal of chemical substances in consultation with the relevant members of the teaching staff and in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Department of Education and Skills in Circular Letters 34/96, M24/04 and 14/11 and in the publications, Safety in the School Laboratory: Disposal of Chemicals and Safety in School Science: A Code of Practice, commissioned by the Department.
